Leijsa Wilton, REALTOR®
Thanks for visiting my website! Since you’re here I thought I’d share a little info about me. I was born, raised and I now reside in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia. I graduated from Morrison High School in 1988 and then went on to complete a Diploma in Hospitality Administration Technology from CBU in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Throughout university, I worked at the Delta Sydney and the Purple Thistle Dining Room at the Keltic Lodge in Ingonish, NS.
After completing university, I moved to Banff, AB where I worked at the Banff Park Lodge, Giorgio's Trattoria and Storme Mountain Lodge in the role of Assistant General Manager. In 1995 I left Alberta came back to Cape Breton for a few months and then headed for Ontario. Here I held a number of roles in the hospitality sector that culminated in the role of Assistant General Manager with a SIR Corp Restaurant – Alice Fazooli’s in Kanata, ON.
In 2000, I was fortunate to get an opportunity to move back home to Cape Breton and worked in a number of roles and establishments in the hospitality sector. I also worked for a period of time at Stream while I was pregnant with my daughter Leila in 2003-04.
In 2008 with the support of my family and friends, I became a licensed REALTOR and joined Dave Butts Realty in Sydney. It was a great place to get to know the industry. After a number of fun and successful years with the firm I decided to be one of the first 2 agents to join local Broker Valarie Sampson’s new company RE/MAX Park Place Inc. It’s an exciting organization to be part of as the company has since grown in staff numbers and has offices located in Sydney, Port Hawkesbury, Baddeck and Antigonish!
I currently reside in Glace Bay with my husband Bernie Ludyka (originally from Westmount) and our daughter Leila (13). My step-children, Jeremy (21) and Lauren (20) live in PEI; however we are very fortunate in that they visit us often. Like many people these days, I keep a busy work and family life. Leila plays PeeWee AA Hockey so lots of rink time attending games and practices and I manage her team! During the summer months we do our best to squeeze in some camping and outdoor activities. Leila also plays soccer, and I’ve been happy to chip-in and help coach team in previous years. I'm grateful to have a job that allows me to work with my family's and my clients' varying schedules.
I strongly believe in the community of Glace Bay. In particular I believe that the Savoy Theatre is an important part of our community and I am proud to be a Silver sponsor with them. I participate as a member of the CB Female Hockey Council, CBU Alumni and the Christmas Crew. As a family, we’re very involved in hockey so I’ve naturally contributed to the Glace Bay Wall of Fame and the “Learn to Play Hockey Program” for girls. In current and previous years I have also supported the Glace Bay High cheerleading squad, the Dominion Rink yearly auction, CB Football golf tournament, Jason Simmons Hockey and Baseball tournament, Bantam AA Provincials. As well the entire RE/MAX Team paricipates in the Children's Wish campaign making a contribution to the organization and to the CBRH for every home that is sold.
Real Estate is a complex and challenging field. Being a licensed REALTOR is a career that I thoroughly enjoy. I truly look forward to helping clients attain their housing needs whether they’re buying or selling.
It’s a privilege to be involved in such an important decision!
